Issue #11: Overcomplication
SCRIPT:
11.1
Steven: Okay, I’ll try to keep up. Um, I move the rock. I'll do a medicine check. What do I roll?
Michelle: Umm, all these dice.
11.2
Steven: All the dice again?
Michelle: No, just everything but these three because your character doesn't know magic.
Steven: Uh, okay.
*Excessive rolling
11.3
Steven: Now what does all that mean?
Michelle: Hmm? It’s not good I'm afraid. The boy is obviously dead as you move the stone.
Steven: Dammit…
11.4
Michelle: As the dust clears, you see the Nazis seem to have crashed through the wall with some kind of large, super-bulldozer.
11.5
Mitchelle: The Nazis pore in from outside, guns at the ready. One of them knocks you to the ground as the others start pushing on a crypt nearby.
Steven: Someone's been watching Indiana Jones…
Michelle: I already told you, it's all in my Campaign Utility.
11.6
Steven: Oh? That was all determined by these dice?
Michelle: No. I'm not done yet. Outside you see a large car pull up.
Steven: A “large” car, Michelle?
Michelle: Well, it’s bigger than your average car anyway.
11.7
Michelle: The hood ornament is not the swastika. Instead, it's something strange depicting, umm, a multiheaded snake-skull thing?
Steven: What are you talking about?
Michelle: Here, it looks like this on my laptop.
Steven: These dice determined that image?
11.8
Michelle: Yeah, I added an algorithm for determining images or symbols in certain situations. I could draw it out by hand with graph paper, a multiplication table, and maybe three hours, but I figure my laptop is faster.
Steven: But how could these dice determine that-
Michelle: Do you want me to explain my system for the next six hours or do you want to keep playing?
